Here's a famous one in our family. My youngest bro, when he was grade school age (maybe nine?), said something about the Japanese attack on Pearl Bailey.
"I'll take little kid words for 200, Alex." When the firstborn was very small, she kept asking to play "Cherry Shoots", as if it were some kind of board game. One day, as we were playing Trivial Pursuit, she walked over and pointed and breathlessly proclaimed "CHERRY SHOOTS"!!!

Knowing you as I do, Stewdog, I would have thought she meant "shots" not "shoots".
